Grafton Station Redevelopment

  • Client: Auckland Regional Transport Authority
  • Year: 2010

Fulton Hogan Ltd was the main contractor on the project to redevelop the new site at Park Road inclusive of road widening, concourse extension, new train station building, lift canopy and shelter.  Service Engineers Limited was subcontracted to Fulton Hogan to supply, fabricate and install all structural steel for the glazed lift shaft, surrounding glazed canopy, shelter and access stair balustrade, inclusive of all glazing, fascia and roofing.

Metropolitan Glass was subcontracted to install all glazing and Coastline Construction Group subcontracted for fascia and roofing work. SEL fabricated all structural steel elements, including steel for rotating glass screens, and installed on site.  The rail tracks were operational during the project which posed the greatest hazard from moving trains and some height work in the lift shaft, canopy and shelter was required. Work had to be scheduled around several other subcontractors on site.
