Te Awamutu WWTP

  • Client: Waipa District Council
  • Year: 2018

In 2018, Service Engineers Limited completed the upgrade and capacity increase of Te Awamutu WWTP.

The purpose of the project was to overhaul the existing dewatering system which had failed and hadn't been operational for some time. The scope of works involved building a new dewatering building and the installation & commissioning of all equipment required for the sludge dewatering process. This equipment was supplied and installed by SEL and included a new belt press, blowers, steel bolted storage tanks, dewatering feed pumps, valves, pipework etc.

The contract also included the construction of a new Wastewater overflow pond. This involved a significant amount of excavation which was completed by a local Civil sub-contractor and managed by SEL.
