Service Engineers Ltd were engaged by Manawatu District Council to design, supply, install and commission a new 400m3 potable water storage tank at the Koputara Rd site.

SEL offered a Glass Fused-to-Steel tank with a ‘Trough Deck’ style roof. The tank was designed to the sites seismic conditions and wind exposure. The tank, roof and all accessories (such as ladders, access hatches) were fully installed by our in-house team. SEL also installed all associated pipework and valves to connect the new tank to the existing system.
The works also involved all earthworks, including the tanks foundation, new concrete block retaining wall, construction of a new staircase to access the tank and all associated landscaping works. This was sub-contracted to a local civil contractor whom we have used previously and have a good working relationship with. All sub-contractors were managed by SEL and using our sub-contractor management policy.
The tank was commissioned with operators from the Water Treatment facility at the base of the site. Training and an operations manual was provided to the Council on completion of the works.
