Sanson Reservoir

  • Client: Manawatu District Council
  • Year: 2017/8

SEL have completed two design and build potable water reservoir contracts for Manawatu District Council. The first was the Himatangi Reservoir, the second was the Sanson Reservoir.

SEL proposed a glass-fused-steel tank, similar to the one proposed at Himatangi however specifically designed to the Sanson site’s seismic and wind conditions. The tank had a useable volume of 420m3 and was fitted with a fully enclosed roof. The tank is used for potable water storage and the council will be constructing a water treatment plant on the site in the near future.

SEL’s Project Manager managed the build and enlisted the support of a local civil contractor to complete the excavation and foundation works on the site. The commissioning of the tank was coordinated with the council and the local residents were made aware of the works.
